Test Audience Feedback

Once our team had created the first part of our film, we then asked our class to view it and fill out a sheet of what they thought the genre was and what was successful and the improvements we should consider.
Everyone said our opening falls into thriller/horror genre which is what we were aiming for.
Here are the criticisms in which we have worked on to try and improve our opening:

Filming Effects

When Emily enters the house, we made the filming have a blurry effect. This demonstrated the eeriness and uneasiness of the house and the unfamiliar surroundings. It also demonstrated her vulnerability as she is in an uncertain place that has a dark atmosphere about it.

Music Changes

Our group originally chose to play a piece of classical music over the first section of our opening. However, after experimentation and research into different horror openings and the music that is most commonly used in them, we decided that something that really did not sound pleasant with  an industrial mixture of high and low tones would make the scene more atmospheric and scary. We created more music on the programme Cubase which was accessible to us on the school's music computers  and this proved to be the best idea as the music ended up being a lot scarier.
